The power of social media

 This is the social media era, with the Internet currently home to millions of apps, websites, and other venues for individuals to communicate through media. Teenagers like myself are among the most frequent users of the majority of social networking websites. We spend a lot of time online, whether it's updating our Facebook status, tweeting a joke, or sharing a photo of our lunch on Instagram. Our culture is heavily reliant on social media.

Recently, I've seen an increase in the number of people writing or publishing lengthy pieces on my Facebook feed on how social media harms teenagers. A lot of people appear to view social media and its impact on today's youngsters negatively. Don't get me wrong; there are a lot of drawbacks to today's kids having such unrestricted access to the Internet. There are countless ways for advertisers to control and sway us. For the majority of social media users, privacy is not really a choice. Additionally, the Internet has become a place where people can harm others quickly and anonymously. In recent years, cyberbullying has become a major issue.

All of these drawbacks of participating in online groups. However, I don't entirely believe that social media is harmful. In fact, I believe that teens can benefit from participating in the social media realm. It gives young people a platform to express their ideas, stories, and opinions. We can communicate with individuals all around the world thanks to it. Both negative and positive uses are possible for it. Bullying among teenagers has always been a severe problem and probably always will be, both offline and online. I'm merely attempting to make the point that stopping the Internet wouldn't halt bullying; I'm in no way trying to defend bullying. There are various ways to influence people.

Social media critics appear to place more emphasis on the fact that it makes it simple for users to spread hate than on the ease with which they may do the same for others. You can create a message at any time and post it for everyone to see on a website like Facebook or Twitter. Yes, there are a lot of people who misuse this potential on the Internet, but what if we pushed them to do good instead?

 

The fact is that the Internet affords young people a lot of freedom. Social media has given us a voice that is relevant today. It's true that many young people are still learning the proper ways to use their voices. In actuality, I'm still making sense of it myself. I believe that adults should start encouraging young people to utilize the Internet for the right purposes rather than the harmful ones.

The voices of today's kids are louder than ever before. Social media can be a fantastic space for people to support one another, connect, and share their stories. We have the opportunity to stay in touch with distant friends and old acquaintances thanks to social media. It provides us with the chance to express our thoughts and tell our tales. On the Internet, we feel heard because we are free to express whatever we want. It can be such a strong emotion, and I believe it's crucial for teenagers to experience. So Instead of discouraging youth in our use of the Internet, I think people should start encouraging us to use it for the right reasons instead of the wrong ones.
